Over the past year we have been updating and refreshing many upstairs rooms in our home as well as a complete basement renovation. As neither my wife or I are very coordinated when it comes to colors, we knew we needed some help.

Darlene came in and helped us see the possibilities our home had. She opened our minds to some great ideas we would not have come up with on our own. From the choice of colors for paint and fabrics to the purchasing of curtains and key decor items, Darlene brought our space to life.

We love the results. In our renovations downstairs, Darlene helped us create a new bedroom for our daughter's 13th birthday. Darlene took my daughter shopping for various accessories and helped her feel very involved in the whole design process. We feel that the results we have achieved were far more exciting than we could have accomplished on our own.

We have really enjoyed working with Darlene and can't wait to have her over again when we do our master bedroom.

I have had a few opportunities to have Darlene from House to Home, come in and assist me in decorating my new home. With informed, up to date ideas, Darlene was able to help me pull together the three main rooms (living , kitchen and dining) that I had been struggling with. Darlene's knowledge of decorating helped me figure out what my style was and what direction I wanted to take my home. I found Darlene to be very gracious and helpful with all aspects of this endeavor; shopping, furniture placement and accessorizing. Our home went from being cold and uninviting to a warm beautiful space that we are able to enjoy with family and friends.

In working with Darlene of “House to Home Interior Design” during our basement renovation, I found her to be (in addition to creative and talented) very conscious of our personal tastes as well as our budget (much to my husband’s relief).

Later, when confronted with a problem while building our new office, we needed her expertise in an emergency. ie: we tried to do the interior decorating ourselves and didn’t like what we had picked out. Darlene was there within the hour and did not leave until she knew we were comfortable with the situation. Needless to say, we asked her to take over the remainder of the job and love our new office.

We are now planning on renovating the main floor of our house and can’t wait to see what Darlene has in store for us!

Being involved with Darlene in a decorating project is a truly rewarding experience. She has decorated two of the rooms in my home and in both instances has succeeded in creating settings which reflect my tastes and preferences. She was very sensitive to gauging my needs and the overall result I was trying to achieve in the rooms.

Darlene is very thorough in doing her background work before making recommendations regarding a decorating project. She questions the client and provides multiple samples of colours, room settings and layouts in order to determine what the client is striving for. She is also very conscientious about attempting to use existing pieces the client may possess and wish to incorporate within the design of the room. Darlene has a real talent for revitalizing keepsakes, mementos and unusual pieces simply by restaging them in novel ways.

If budget is a factor, Darlene is very diligent about staying within the budget without compromising the quality of the finished project. She works efficiently without sacrificing the detail work. I was amazed at how quickly my large family room was completed.

I would definitely recommend Darlene to anyone who was wanting someone to work with them on a decorating project. She is very open to working in a variety of settings, very creative and is constantly keeping herself knowledgeable about new products, trends and techniques. She also has a great passion and enjoyment for creating spaces that people will love.
